The Department of Mathematics Teaching was founded in 2011 within the Department of Primary Education at the Faculty of Education and accepted students in 2014. The primary goal of the Department is to train teachers who have a sound understanding of mathematics and have positive attitude to mathematics and the program is committed to promoting mathematical literacy. The undergraduate program consists of subject-specific courses including mathematics, analitic geometry, geometry, pedagogic courses and electives. The program also aims to train teachers who can teach through innovative methods techniques and approaches. “Learning through action” has a special significance emphasized in all the courses in the program Today, there are 4 Dr and 1 research assistant in the department.
